IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHOW YOUR APPRECIATION FOR THIS SITE, PLEASE MAKE A DONATION. It'll only take a minute or 2 of your time and it'll encourage me to continue updating this site. Thank you. I'm a poor college student. Violins please.Getting well over 6,000 visitors a year, it would seriously cover the hosting bill if each of you donated as little as a penny! :-) (Though, naturally, you're encouraged to give more :-D )

My Screenplays
Frederick William Springer III

I am a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University's film program, and am currently pursuing a MBA in marketing at Fairleigh as well. In less than a year and a half span, while I was 18 and 19 years old, I wrote my first three scripts in the realm of the horror/thriller/dark comedy genre. I believe this fact may help with marketability- "written by a teen for teens of all ages" or "written by a teen for teens at heart." After a year vacation, I wrote my fourth. I took another year hiatus while filming an excerpt from ROOMMATES for my Senior Thesis, and returned with the FREDDY VS. JASON: ALPHA/OMEGA contest entry.

I am currently seeking representation (WGA approved). If you like what you read here and would like to take me on as a client, you can contact me at LasperchesMiroir@yahoo.com.

Naturally, if you are one of the actors listed under casting ideas (or one of their agents), a producer, or studio exec, you are also more than welcome to contact me as well. I would be interested in directing too, if that's possible.

Title: Deadly Relations

Log Line: "Deadly Relations" focuses on the deaths and disappearances going on around Xavier Hale and his friends, all seniors at L'Asperches University. The core group consists of Xavier, his best friend and roommate Drew, Drew's girlfriend Marie, and the bitchy interloper Delilah whom nobody likes. There are also many other colorful characters met along the way. Interestingly enough though, all the victims, in one way or another, are tied to Xavier...

Genre: Horror/Thriller

My casting ideas: Robin Williams, Natalie Portman (though she says no horror, but hey she did do Mars Attacks! after all so there is some hope), Kirsten Dunst, Britney Spears, Eliza Dushku, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Terry O'Quinn, Mädchen Amick, Marnette Patterson, Larisa Oleynik, Austin O'Brien, Don Jeffcoat...

Title: Roommates

Log Line: As the name implies, "Roommates" introduces us to Sidney and his roommate Steve, both freshmen in college. Sidney is relatively normal. However, words can not even begin to describe how annoying Steve is. Tension builds until Sidney finally snaps, no longer able to take Steve's antics. What follows is how Sidney deals with the murder he has committed, how he interacts with others after Steve's demise (including Steve himself!), and finally how he cleverly covers his own tracks. Whether it be a roommate or a family member, all of us has lived with someone else sometime in our life and therefore all should be able to relate to the story and sympathize with Sidney.

My casting ideas: Freddie Prinze, Jr., Jessica Alba...

After meeting a resident of mine who had similar roommate problems, it dawned on me he'd be the perfect lead. After seeing if he'd be interested, I scrapped my computer animation plans and developed a very condensed version of my original screenplay, titled ROOMMIES, to shoot for my Senior Thesis. It has went over well with numerous audiences, as well as at the IMAGES FESTIVAL in April 2003. Once I am able to obtain the rights to use the song Summertime, Summertime, I will be selling copies and going the festival route. Hopefully in the future, I'll be given the opportunity to film the entire thing with professionals. Meanwhile, you can see some production stills here.

Title: L'Asperches U.

Log Line: A group of college friends of various ages start antagonizing an odd, distant freshman named Chester as they try to assimilate him into their group. The ringleader who wants nothing more than to totally corrupt Chester is Caspar, an eccentric and highly animated individual in his junior year. He is followed blindly by Simon, a freshman. Dave, a junior, is much more reluctant (having something called a conscience) as is his junior girlfriend Jennifer. Thrown into the mix is the cute, sweet, innocent looking Briana Eve. But don't let her looks fool you, you'd never guess in a million years that she is a slut if it weren't for the entourage of guys following her everywhere she goes. One by one, bad things begin happening to them.

My casting ideas: Allison Mack, Seth Green...

Title: MENTAL

Log Line: Rachel and her good friends Fred, Mike, and Jay are in their early twenties trying to find their places in the world. They're much like your average young adults, except that they're into doing things others would consider "scary"- hanging out in cemeteries and such. On an excursion to the local abandoned mental institution, Rachel meets Ian whom she immediately falls for. However, before they leave, she discovers he is in a cult. Wanting nothing to do with him, she ignores his phone calls. Soon she begins to think he's following her, but her friends think she's crazy...

Title: FREDDY VS. JASON: ALPHA/OMEGA

Description: Fridaythe13thfilms.com and Fridaythe13thforum.com conducted a "how you would choose to end the fight between Freddy and Jason" contest. I pumped out my 25 page ending in less than 48 hours and became one of three semi-finalists in the MOST CINEMATIC category. My goal was to make the backstories and motives of the two killers more coherent and solid (as in both series, they are still either jumbled, unexplained, or a combination of both), tie and tidy up the fragments of each series (independently) together once and for all. If you thought Freddy had motive before, wait till you get a load of this!

I wound up missing out on first place by a mere 3 votes. Though, reading the other two contestants entries, I really wasn't impressed. They didn't seem movie quality to me, or that good of stories either. Perhaps part of the problem was that under each of the five categories, all the contestants' entries were shown on the same page. All but mine, that is. They decided to place a link to my entry at the bottom of the page. So how many people just read the first two contestants on the regular page and then didn't bother to click on the link to read mine is probably a good amount. That and people with AOL email addresses couldn't vote, but that would have affected all contests I suppose. Oh well, what are you going to do? Hopefully someone at New Line will take a peak at mine anyway and jump-start my writing/directing career. :-)
